The Size 200 fits into most hands very comfortably and holds more line capacity. The Size 100 is best for smaller hands, flipping and pitching all day because it is lighter weight.

We do not recommend using in saltwater unless you plan to clean your reels thoroughly immediately after each use if you want your reel to perform at its best season after season.

Which reel size is the best all-purpose reel?

For baitcasting reels, the 200 is the best size for most angler applications and hand sizes. Also, 80% of anglers retrieve with their right hand. For spinning reels, the 2000-2500 is the most common for all anglers. Kistler Spinning reels are designed for both left and right-handed retrievers.
Will Kistler have reel parts available for years to come?
